Until her recent retirement, Karen Corsano was the senior programmer of the
Nurses' Health Study
and other epidemiological studies at the
Channing Laboratory, Boston. Daniel Williman retired in 2007
as professor of Latin and History
at Binghamton University
in New York State. They met in the 60s in Toronto, where
they both earned their graduate degrees in medieval studies,
and since 1991 they have collaborated on studies of medieval
Latin archives and libraries. By 2003, when they married, they
were using their archival skills differently, collecting
material for their history of John Singer Sargent and
Rose-Marie André-Michel.
They divide their time between
research, music, and dance, based in Cambridge, Massachusetts,
and writing and rustic pursuits at their cottage by
Buttermilk Bay.
Research and friends combine to call them to Europe
regularly.
